1. Cooperate with RSR to have shades erected over trains waiting to travel to Bangkok;
2. Contact the Governor of Bangkok to do the same at his end;
3. Insist that air con on the evening trains be set to no lower than 26 Celsius (I always hear complaints
from travellers about the cold) and that they not be started until the train has left the station.
4. Direct that buses air con be set to no lower than 26 Celsius.
5. Investigate shading options for waiting buses including planting of evergreen indigenous trees.
6. Discuss with RSR converting all evening trains to natural cooling and removing air con.

while on the shade & travel issue -

7. Bring in a regulation requiring that all off street car parking provide shade, initially shade cloth and
plant trees for the future. (Tesco does it so why not all condos, shops etc?)
8. Request the central government release funds from its economic stimulus package to provide loans or grants
for these initiatives.

Timing: Items 2 & 3 should be done in the first week (or earlier) of taking office. The others before hot February.
Tree planting may take 2 to 3 years to complete.
